Sam Mestman of LumaForge | Interview snippets from NAB BuZZ 2018 podcasts with Larry Jordan
Larry Jordan: Give me an example of what kind of problems you solve.
Sam Mestman: For instance, this year at NAB, we introduced our client-side Jellyfish app, which just got a new update, and it is the world's easiest way to connect to a server out of the box. Our servers are all reconfigured to work with the app and we just introduced, as well, a new backend that simplifies the complicated minefield of permissions, ACLs, creating shares, all of these things that everyone is terrified. We're trying to make people less terrified of their server.
LJ: You mentioned the word Jellyfish. What's that?
SM: The Jellyfish is our product. We make the Jellyfish and the ShareStation. The Jellyfish is small, lives in the room with you, has a handle. You put it on the desk, you connect up a few computers, and you go over gigabit or 10 gig. The ShareStation is our enterprise product that's for like 20 people or more. We have, on the Jellyfish side, we have the mobile tower and rack units, so depending on what size of group you have and what form factor you want, we make a Jellyfish that's right for you and it's an appliance that you set up, you go, and you edit.
