Larry Jordan: Welcome back. Dale Backus is the co-founder of SmallHD, which is a company that you may not have heard of but you need to pay attention to. Dale, welcome.

Dale Backus: Thank you.

Larry Jordan: Tell us what SmallHD does.

Dale Backus: SmallHD makes primarily on-camera field monitors. We started in 2009 with a 9-inch version. It was at the time the world's first true HD on-camera field monitors ready to rise with the digital revolution. And now, we're one of the leaders in the space for on-camera monitors. We make everything from 5-inch DSLR monitors all the way up to 17-inch production monitors for films.

Larry Jordan: Now, you mentioned they're on-camera. What happens if I take the camera outside?

Dale Backus: SmallHD has always been pioneering high bright displays for almost six years now. So we were one of the first people to really come out with a cost effective solution for seeing a high definition image outside in broad daylight. The first part was the DP7 Hight Bright, which was a, I can't remember now, like 1500 nit or so display. And since then, we've just been continuing to push those numbers up and pull the prices down. And so, pretty much everything we make now comes in high brightness flavor.
