James DeRuvo of doddleNEWS #3 | Interview snippets from NAB BuZZ 2018 podcasts with Larry Jordan
James DeRuvo: The highlight has to be the Blackmagic pocket cinema camera for me.
Larry Jordan: Is it that nice?
JD: It's beautiful. It's a work of art. It's got a full Micro Four Third sensor, 13 stops of dynamic range, it records to both C-fast and SD UHS II cards. On top of that, you can plug in any external hard drive to it and record directly to the hard drive which means you could sit there and do reality TV and record right to it for hours. It's just fantastic. It has 4 microphones so you can get redundancy in your stereo recording and it just reallyÔøΩ At long last, they took their time, they wanted to do it right and it's a beautiful camera.
LJ: We had Dan May on the show earlier today and he was telling us it's going to ship probably around September, in Q3, as a 1295 price tag.
JD: And he also told me that right now it's about as heavy as a 5D Mark IV. And he told me it'll probably be a lot lighter by then.
