Larry Jordan: One of the challenges that all of us have had over the last year is the Meltdown and Spectre viruses that Intel inflicted on us. What's been happening on that front to protect our CPU cores?

Xavier Garcia: Well, I think HP have been working very closely with all the industry partners like Microsoft and Intel to ensure that we deliver as soon as possible the solutions to our customers. Today you go to our website, you can find all those micro codes and different releases that are required in order to upgrade our workstations, well not only workstations, all the computers on the HP portfolio.

LJ: There was a lot of discussion when that micro code was implemented, it would slow performance down especially with your new workstations, is that an issue?

XG: Well, there is some cases where customers will see a difference in performance within a micro code, so we have been working with our partners to minimize it and to get the best that we can do. And I think that now that all the micro codes are available, we expect that industries are going to start adopting them. I believe that the level of adoption at this moment is low. We're going to see in the coming months how the industry is adopting them and also what are the solutions and what is the roadmap within that problem. Our partners have expressed that there's going to be a roadmap. Looking forward to getting around those issues.

LJ: It'll be nice when that is behind us for all of us, I'm sure.
