Larry Jordan: So DRS Nova, what does it do?

Randy Reck: It is our film restoration software. It's been around for a couple of decades. DRS is sort of the Kleenex of tissues. You want to go to DRS, you're cleaning up film, you're fixing very old titles.

LJ: Well, one of the established names is obviously DaVinci Resolve. What's the difference between DRS and what DaVinci does?

RR: DRS has a handful of patented features that do quite a bit of automated fixing, that the whole concept was trying to speed up the process, make it more efficient. We do things like a single button stabilize.

LJ: So, this film shudders through the gate, it stabilizes to make the film less jumpy?

RR: Just figures out what should be happening and what doesn't for you. Now, you can decide to make some manual tweaks and do tracking if you need to, but it's really quite good.
