Larry Jordan: Tell me what workflow automation means to you.

Scott Murray: Telestream, people think of us as transcoding, which is taking from one codec format file to another. However, those files need to be created somehow and they need to go some place and sometimes they need to be stitched together and sometimes they need to have all kinds of variantsÔøΩ they need have ABR. It's all manual processing unless you have a sophisticated piece of software that is able to build, bring in a file, say,  "I need to create captions, I need to insert metadata, I need to create five variants of this." The workflow is the analysis software and actually being able to inspect the data, verify that it's correct, and create all the variants that are required.

LJ: I know this from the training that I do. I create a program every week and I've got to create a version for download, I've got to create a version for streaming, I've got a creative version to go to YouTube, I've got to create a version for mastering and archiving. What you're able to do is you're able to say I can automate all of this?

SM: Absolutely.

LJ: And then send it to where it needs to be sent?

SM: Yes, that's right.

LJ: And it works?

SM: Believe it or not. We just started shipping the will-work option recently.
