Jason Teichman of Pond5 | Interview snippets from NAB BuZZ 2018 podcasts with Larry Jordan
Larry Jordan: So, I can provide a sample of what I'm looking for and then you'll try to match clips that you've got that come close to that sample?
Jason Teichmann: We will. Exactly, right. You take a picture of whatever you want. It could be on your phone, you could literally be on YouTube, you could be anywhere, and we'll analyze the clip and then we will look for a match across our 10+ million clips within our marketplace.
LJ: Now there's been a lot of conversation about the implementation of machine learning. Is this an example of what this is? It's the computers who are analyzing the clips and trying to find a match?
JT: That's exactly what that is. I know it's a very buzzy word that a lot of folks use all the time, but that's exactly what that is. We use machines that have very sophisticated algorithms to identify the composition of the shot, each shot within the sequence. And we then match those sequences against what's in our marketplace.
