Paul Babb of Maxon | Interview snippets from NAB BuZZ 2018 podcasts with Larry Jordan
Paul Babb: We're not showing anything new in terms of product features this time. At NAB, we're trying to focus on the artwork that's done with Cinema 4D because, obviously, the artwork is more interesting than the paint brush. We've brought in a great group of artists to show off what they've been doing with Cinema 4D from anything from visual effects, again, to motion graphics, medical animation. This year, we've put a strong focus on trying to bring in as many female artists as we could to represent that part of the industry as well.
Larry Jordan: Why the emphasis on artists? Because NAB is a show that's focused on technology and it's really distracting. Can people actually concentrate on what you're showing in terms of how the tool gets used?
PB: Sure. The artists are really, really great about breaking down parts and pieces of the projects and different tips and techniques, what they've done to accomplish what they're doing. The artwork is what inspires people to want to do it, to want to get into the industry; they want to create that kind of work. And so for them to have this kind of mentorship where you've got these top artists breaking down the ways they work through the program, how they accomplish the tasks they're trying to accomplish, what motivates them, it's a huge benefit for the community
