Larry Jordan: What have you got for that's new here at the show?

John Hickey: What we're launching at the show, actually, is a next-generation KVM platform that we've spent the last 18 months building from ground up, so it's great to get it out there and actually start showing it to real people.

LJ: And you can talk about it finally.

JH: It's called Emerald, so it's the Emerald KVM Platform and we have basically unified both KVM matrix and IP-based systems so our receivers and transmitters, which are physical devices, can talk to dedicated KVM switches as well as to an IP network so you can choose, as a customer, which way you want to go. They're high-performance, so they scale both from, I suppose, a more traditional HD video up to higher resolutions like 4K, completely lossless video at 60 frames a second or you can put them into modes where you compress the video to basically a reduced bandwidth if somebody wants the scale of more wider a network.

They also have integrated virtualization technology, as we see the trends in, say, the industry here, in broadcast industry, where people are moving things from always being physical machines but increasingly adopting use of virtual machines. We support that hybrid world where sometimes you want to connect to a physical machine, sometimes to connect to virtual machines all from the one user station. So you, as an operator, you almost become transparent to you whether it's physical or virtual. The IT guy in the background can be moving services to the virtualized world, it's transparent to you as an operator.
